24 Hours in Paris (In My Dreams)

 The Art of Soft Self-Care

Morning in Montmartre *

If I had the opportunity to go on a trip to any one place in the world, I would choose Paris. I was very much inspired by an article I saw in Travel + Leisure, which enlisted the most romantic coffee shops in the city, and I got this urge to teleport there ASAP. It's all about soft croissants, old chairs, and flower-filled terraces. For me, a perfect Parisian morning would be to start it in Montmartre by walking its still streets, finding a warm croissant, and sitting under the string lights writing off my journal and sipping a café crème.

 * The Cafe Culture Dream *

The article is not a "guide" in the traditional sense, it is more like a passionate note to Paris. The cafes are described in such depth that it is almost as if you were in the very place they are. The author says that not only are cafes in Paris unimportant as far as food is concerned, they are also about really enjoying life, people watching, and being present in the moment. It's really poetic and not at all confrontational. It's calming and beautiful and it will just make you want to catch that flight right away.

* The Barefoot Brunette in Paris*

Just like Barefoot Brunette, linen pants, massive sunglasses, strawberry tarts, and some French music in the background. Travelling to cities like Paris is not only about the destination but also about the way you feel about it. I think it's more about setting a mood.  For instance, I can just be in my bedroom, lighting a candle, and having a plate of fruit and feel like I'm in Paris. The simple life is just a state of mind sometimes.

  1. This post made me feel like I was walking through Paris myself! I love how you connected travel to a feeling, not just a place. The way you described slowing down and being present totally fits the Barefoot Brunette vibe. So dreamy and intentional
