What Self-Care Really Looks Like *

As of recently, I have developed a soft spot for gentle self-care which I want to point out, doesn’t only revolve around bubble baths (even though I like them too). I am talking about those little acts that leave you with the feeling of being cared for. The article in Allure outlines self care as a main part of the wellness culture, explaining that it has become something more than just a hashtag. This article discusses how self-care emerged as a truly revolutionary act. The act of taking care of yourself, and now, it’s also about the small routine that help you feel peaceful.

 * What the Article Says *

The author takes a deep dive into the various forms of self-care, such as skincare and journaling, and also talks about setting healthy boundaries and staying away from gadgets. It is not a one size fits all type of thing. Some people prefer yoga to other sports, and some people prefer deep breath exercises to other alternatives. The article does not come across as preachy. It has a very relaxed, and open identifiable tone.

* My Soft Girl Routine *

A typical self care night for me includes having a clean room, some LED lights on, and playing r&b music from my playlist. The entire routine consists of my double cleanse skin routine, and journaling. I even do affirmations, and that’s more effective than I imagined. This to me is an image of a Vanilla Blonde’s life, to create an easy full of tenderness and peace of mind. Each of us has the right to treat ourselves as if we were a loved one.
